Hi ladies, I have severe endometriosis, had laparoscopy, left ovary and tube not visible from endo and ovary stuck to bowel and bowel twisted. Constant pain so gyni has prescribed Decapeptyl. Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been on this and how it worked for them. I am very anxious about the side effects. Thanks in advance.x

Hi gillrose, I have just finished 6 months of treatment 7 weeks ago! I had 2 3-monthly injections. Where to start haha... Well firstly I would do it again all of my symptoms were manageable. I didn't take any hrt, have they suggested this for you? I think side effects are different from what I have seen if you take hrt. Anyway the symptoms I did have were headaches, hot flushes and my sleep was more disturbed than normal. My mood also dipped but really not sure if that was decapeptyl or life events! I had a few weeks initially of headaches then a few weeks of increased pain before the other symptoms like hot flushes kicked in. I hope this helps but if you have any questions feel free to ask xxx

Hi dsteve, thanks so much for your reply. I am soooo nervous about getting the injection but feel I have no other option now. Thw gyni prescribed tibilone to start 6 weeks after the injection. The endo has caused weight gain for me and I am hoping the decapeptyl won't cause more. I'm not being shallow, it's just being overweight can get you down and it's enough to be dealing with the pain of endo! I also read that another side effect can be reduced breast size, it makes me feel like the injection is going to take me over! Do you mind me asking you if you had any bad side effects? Thanks again.☺
