Hey I've heard some really great things about the Mediterranean diet for fibroids. Also try to stay in a healthy weight range. And avoid alcohol, sugar, and smoking. As they can make it worse. I'm on the combination pill with no real side effects. I don't know much about the mini pill. I've heard both great stories and horror stories about the coil. In the end it's up to you and really kinda depends on your physiology. I wish you the best of luck. And I hope this helps a little.

Ok thank you for your response & I love sugar & alcohol also the last year I’ve started smoking so this is probably not helping!

I suffer with depression & the combination pill makes it worse plus I lose my libido!

Also have bad circulation in my legs so I worry about DVT

I worry about DVT too. I have bad circulation too. I'm also overweight and I smoke. Doc say pretty soon if I don't both lose weight and quit smoking I'll have to go off the pill. I don't want that because it the only thing helping my cysts and possible Endo. I'm trying to quit smoking at the moment as I have surgery in 2 weeks. If you just started smoking I really can't express how much harder it gets to quit with every year that passes. So if I were you I'd try to quit but I know easier said than done. As for sugar and alcohol I love them too and am not supposed to have them. But I mean come on I'm only human. Lol. As for the pill making depression worse I have PMDD pretty much everything makes my depression worse. So I know how bad it is. Maybe you should try the mini pill I've heard they can be easier on you but as for what would help fibroids best im sorry but I don't know. Try checking the pinned post. They are full of info on about everything. Good luck

Hi Animal lover, I know you are trying to find out answers but do u mind if I ask a question about ur fibroids? I have an appt in a few days and I should wait til then instead of interrupting ur thread 🙄 but I’m anxious. Can u tell me if u also have stabbing rectal pain and did ur symptoms come on gradually with fibroids or rather suddenly? I am having so many strange issues and am questioning fibroids. Thanks so much and I hope you feel better soon!

Oh your fine don’t worry about interrupting my post bless you so the stabbing pains have gone on a while but only last few months were it’s been so bad I’ve fainted it’s like it goes from front to back & I cant stand up straight then get ringing in ears & faint from the pain it’s quite scary.

In our family we have a history or trapped wind & I am a IBS sufferer so I am questioning the stabbing pains being the fibroids as can’t seem to find anyone who’s been in this much pain with them.

What other issues are you having if you don’t mind me asking?

I don’t mind at all! I really appreciate your feedback on this! I have had several female issues like a constant aching pain in the pelvis. The pain gets worse after sitting on a hard chair or surface for awhile. It originally started in the area where the uterus is but gradually moved upward to include where my ovaries should be. When I stand there’s a pulling, tugging sensation that almost bends me over double at times and it seems to be pain and pulling around the ovaries. I have had a few episodes of stabbing pains up inside and including stabbing pains up into my rectum. My period was slightly longer and slightly heavier. This is has came on since about the end of July so it’s been surprising. The pain didn’t gradually develop and worsen...my pelvis started aching one day while I was sitting in a hard chair and it’s been hurting ever since. Very odd. I hate that you are experiencing intense pain. I hope you find the answers you’re looking for!

Hello Animallover. Can I have some update about your treatment? The first doctor don't really recommend any treatment. He mentioned the contraceptive pill to make they stabilize. I got a second opinion and ended up with a Mirena but it kept growing. Now I am on waiting list for surgery but I will have a second opinion. I prefer to try any no invasive method. What about you?
