Hi guys, I'm wondering if anyone can advise... My period started a couple of days ago, it's really light as I have the Mirena but was more painful than usual. Then yesterday morning I was suddenly doubled over in pain and could do nothing but curl in a ball and cry, couldn't speak, didn't know what to do! Shooting pains through my thighs, back and all around pelvis but particularly where I get one sided pain all the time. Thought I'd have to call an ambulance it was that bad. But after half an hour or so it subsided and now there's almost no pain on that side at all (good?!) But for the rest of the day and today I am sooooo tender and not sure if I should do anything or just manage it with painkillers. Also wondering how long this will last as I'm meant to be going camping in a couple of days 😂 That's going to be comfortable! Agh!
Burst cyst?: Hi guys, I'm wondering if... - Endometriosis UK
Burst cyst?
hi. How are you feeling? Are you diagnosed with endometriosis? Have you had cysts before? I've ended up in hospital a few times with troublesome cysts and tried to carry on with them to and it's hard going. With going on holiday I would suggest getting checked out, we got home from holidays and one of mine ruptured the next day which was a hospital job. Mine always happened during a period and generally every 3 rd month. Hope you are starting to feel less tender. Xx
Thank you so much for replying.
Oh crikey, maybe I'd better ring the doc, how do they check you out, do you need a scan?
I am fine if I keep taking the cocodamol, but have never had to take this many before. The ache comes back without it, but hard to tell if it's "normal" endo/ bowel pain. Yes you're right, going away without knowing is a bit daft.
Sorry I didn't give any history! I have stage 4 endo, frozen pelvis, waiting for a hysterectomy and oophorectomy. An MRI showed I had some cysts but not huge. Think it's the haemorrhagic one that's burst.
hi. 😊. Yes a scan might help but mine didn't show up🙉, they thought I had appendicitis but when they operated it was a slow ruptured cyst. I've also got stage 4, frozen pelvis and bowel / bladder endometriosis. I had surgery in 2017 and our little miracle is 5 weeks tomorrow and is fast asleep so I'm at the moment enjoying being pain free. Are you having the surgery at a bsge centre? Xx
