Hi All,

had my first lap for stage 4. Feeling just feeling slightly sore on the incision but other that feeling great. took 4 hours to get out of anaesthetic but once I emptied my bladder they were happy to let me go.

My throats not hurting till now, but wanted to know can I use a hot water bottle on my incision? they gave me a heated blanket at the hospital that felt amazing.

Hi, I wouldn’t when I went in for mine they said not hot water bottle or bath for at least a week, the heat from the water bottle can affect incisions. I would recommend to use pain killers and use a heat pad, hot bottle on your back it may help distract from the pain hope this helps x

Thank you it was because the nurse said as long as I have towel or cover over it should be ok. But I won't risk it. I currently put the water bottle on my lower back instead as I have pain there.

yay glad you're recovering !!

I didn't use a hot water bottle on my stomach for the first two weeks. You can use a heat pad - I think amazon does lots of next day small electric ones. I used a wheat microwave bag as they don't heat up too much. Hot water bottle on your back definitely as it soothes your stomach anyway.

xx
