Hello yes I get very loose bowels when I am on a period, which can cause a lot of pain too. Maybe lactulose syrup would help you as it softens the stools and makes it easier to go, can you ask your doctor for some? Hope you are feeling a bit better as realise your post was written 5 hours ago x

Hi. I have to use suppositories every time I need to open my bowels wether it’s hard or soft. A lot of sitting in squat position. I’m currently on morphine daily for my pain, However I’m one of those people who gets the opposite side effects from morphine as most people. I’m due on my period within the next 4-5 days. I have finally been now thank you x

Just to follow up, i had a prescription for lactulose for the same reason but the pharmacist just sold it to me instead as it's cheaper. So you can get it OTC. Thankfully haven't had to use it yet due to where I am in my cycle but I'm waiting for an MRI to see if there's endo on my bowel as I have similar symptoms xx

Hope you feeling better now. I suffered bowel problems way before I was on constant pain killers diet was blamed but ironically when I'm on a healthy diet I have the runs when I'm on a less healthy diet it swings but always sort of knew I was due on as pardon the bluntness like having a clear out had a bum like a Japanese flag 😂. Currently been accused of bunging myself up with pain killers.....that I need to manage pain as I've part prolapse my womb now to add to the list of medical joys in my life. All I can advise is lactolose or prune juice works a treat, ensure your keeping fluids up as that will help things pass easier, maybe something warm on the bottom of your back as well tends to ease the soreness of things. I hope this helps

Hi

My stools are usually always soft even when I’m constipated. I can’t us lactalose or other softeners otherwise it’s literally running out of me, as well as before I was on painkillers daily it was diarrhoea. The meds kind of make my stools more formed! My endo was rectovaginal and on my rectum as well as everywhere else apart from my actual womb. But I do have an ‘obvious bulky adenomyosis-ic looking’ uterus!

I’m due to have a hysterectomy soon. But given my symptoms and pain I’m having to have bowel prep because of a possible bowel resection x
