Worried I have another cyst forming.

I had a lap 11 months ago and had 2 cysts removed, along with the endo tissue and one of my fallopian tubes. I felt on the whole much better (the pain last year was horrendous and I had not experienced anything like it), however over the last several weeks I am beginning to be in constant pain again, the pain that felt like the pain I was in last year and not my usual awful period pain. I am freaking out that I have another cyst forming as I am feeling just as I did before I had my lap last year. I feel that my skin is stretching and I am very emotional. Added stress is the fact that I am about to embark on my ivf journey.

Has anyone experienced another cyst forming in quite a short space of time? I am going to attempt to get a scan booked to see if I do in fact have another cyst forming.

I am so sad all the time and constantly crying due to the pain and everything else going on with the whole ivf.

Thank you. I have a GP appointment tomorrow so I will see what they have to say with regards to a scan.

Oh no, so sorry to hear your pain has returned!

I wonder if the fertility team will scan anyway before beginning IVF because of your history?

I am in a similar position — had a lap last year, pain returning, embarking on IVF — and I might be able to offer some reassurance. I had a scan recently and it turns out that yes, a small cyst has returned, which is probably the source of the ovarian pain, but it is so tiny, less than 0.5 cm, that it won’t affect IVF. The pain is often disproportionate to the size / extent of the endo ... silver lining.

I’m feeling symptoms returning in my my bladder and bowel too but have been told that they won’t affect fertility.

The main thing is to get the IVF process started as soon as possible. Do what whatever you can to speed things up.

Very best wishes xx

Hay Emma, I'm 7 weeks post op after endo surgery, 5 Cysts removed, biggest being 24cm!! In 7 weeks I've developed 2 further cysts, one on each ovary... One 4cm, and the other 7cm, in just 7 weeks! Apparently it's very uncommon the develop again so quick but I do seem to like to beat the odds ALOT! I was sure one had developed again due to the pressure in my pelvis which I had before surgery, I insisted on an ultrasound to check and was told it's very unlikely but they would do one to put my mind at rest.... And there they were! They were shocked.... I wasn't! I would push to have them make sure if that's how you feel hun, we know our bodies. I'm now having to have a Hystsalpingo-oophorectomy to endo this problem. My bowel resection has been postponed for the hysterectomy. Don't be fobbed off. Good luck xx
