Does anyone else suffer from hives? I woke up this morning after have a rough night pain wise and my cheat and belly was red with a hive rash. Haven’t changed washing powders or been in contact with anything different.
I’ve had hives before but never really thought whether it was connected to my endo or not...
I’ve had this a few times from stress and other times from over heating in restrictive clothing (mainly bras). I took photos and showed it to my GP as I could never get an appointment in time for them to see it and they confirmed it was basically an allergic reaction to my sweat! Luckily for me it doesn’t happen often but antihistamines helped x
I have really sensitive skin that reacts to a variety of things it might come in contact with. It has grown more sensitive with age and I have developed reactions to things I never reacted to before, which results in general irritation and sometimes hives. You may have not changed anything but developed an allergy, which is more common than a lot of people realise.
Also, aside from external contacts it could be a developed reaction to medication or something you have eaten.
Do you dry your clothing/bed sheets/ etc on the clothes line outdoors? They may have picked something up on them that you were not aware of that was carried in the breeze such as pollen, weed killer, bug spray, spray on sunblock, something being burned in a neighborhood garden, and so on.
I would urge you to make a list of anything you came in contact with or injested in the 24 hours prior in case you have developed an allergy as reactions can potentially worsen very quickly, so it would be good to try and pin point what it might be.
Allergy medication (in pill form) can help ease symptoms, but check with your pharmacist for any drug interactions if you are taking other medications. They may also recommend applying something directly to your skin to sooth the itching and/or pain.
Hopefully this was a random fluke for you and it doesn't happen again.
Hi, December to March I became really sensitive, 10 days before my period, to anything and everything around me.
I took photos of the hives and went to my gp, was told to take cetirizine and piriton. Once I had my op in March, Iv not had hives, just the odd food sensitivity.
Keep a diary of everything and then you can spot the patterns. I found oat baths really helped when I couldn’t take any more piriton or cetirizine.
