Hello again ladies, I haven't been on here for a while. Had my 2nd lap 2 weeks ago where again no endometriosis was found. My uterus however was attached to my bowel and then it was all attached to my left side wall with adhesions. This has happened within a year so im not convinced that endo wasn't present but when I asked if she had taken a biopsy she said no. Again it was general gynae. Everything has been seperated and a coil fitted but 2 weeks on im in agony, stabbing pain in my uterus, up my bottom and in my bowel. Ive been bleeding ever since with my rectal bleeding too which they seem to think is internal hemorrhoids even though a colonoscopy was clear. My plan is to let everything settle for 3 months and see where im at, I will then proceed to a private consultation with a specialist. Can anyone off any advice on my situation or just make me feel like im not losing this battle x
Still no endo found: Hello again ladies, I... - Endometriosis UK
Still no endo found
Adhesions and scarring are usually caused by endo .. no endo found just means you didn't have active patches at the time of surgery . I've had two surgeries the first one found nothing the second my insides were a mess I lost both my tubes and my right ovary was attached to another organ..both sides adhesions and scar tissue and an active patch of endo . It's very hard to diagnose and CANNOT show up on ultra sound or CT . It took 20 years to find mine .I personally would change from a gyno to an endo specialist . Google for them in your area you might have more luck . Wish I'd have done it years ago xx
I am very very sorry to tell you this, but getting endo surgery with a non-endo specialist is completely pointless given that you can get diagnosed and get all endo removed (in your case adhesions, but I suspect you have much more than that that went undiagnosed because the surgeon was a non-specialised gyn) by getting excision surgery with a specialist. The best piece of advice I give to endo sufferers is to get as few surgeries as possible and make sure the first one is the definitive one by going directly to a specialist.
You are not losing your battle. The battle hasn't even started yet given the poor care you were given so far. I only hope the private consultation is with a great, well-trained endo excision specialist (either a very good one working in an excellent endo BSGE centre or a Nancy nook doc -the latter is even better).
