Coil expelled

Hey All,

I had a coil inserted on 14th June during my lap.. 1 week post op I visited the GP about the amount of pain I was experiencing and was sent away with painkillers🙄 5 days later the pain was so intense I ended up in A&E to wait 5 hours to be sent home with more painkillers and told its ‘normal’... Late last night I noticed the strings was actually out of me 😬 after an hour of panicking on what to do I got the damn thing out🤣 - moral of the story; you know your body!! All of the doctors was looking at me like I was over reacting when really all of the pain WAS real and it was signs my body was rejecting it!

Now it’s out I’m not quite sure what the next steps are, I’m defiantly not getting it put back in I know that much but my last gyni appt they said If the coil doesn’t work there’s no other options to try to stop the 5-6 week long periods I have other than a hysterectomy (which isn’t an option for me until I have had children) I have my follow up in September with the gyni so want some suggestions to take to him before he fobs me off! What contraceptive have you guys had that have stopped or calmed down your periods?!
