Help and Advice needed please - Prostap - Endometrioma - Cyst

Hi Ladies,

I had a Prostap injection a week ago it is the one that lasts for 3 months and initially I was fine just felt tired, I noticed after a few days I was not needing my strong painkillers and thought it was great, however the last couple of days I have started to get the pains more severe along with horrid side effects including feeling extremely low and anxious, nauseous, body aches all over - feel like i have been beaten up! and got a horrible muzzy head.

I was diagnosed with endo 4 years ago after a very long battle and have had 3 laps in that time, I had a scan in April that showed a 'possible' small endometrioma cyst on my left ovary and that my left ovary was 'bulky' I then ended up being sent to A & E in June with left sided severe pain. The scan there showed a 6cm simple cyst on my right ovary but said that left ovary could not be seen. I have since had an appointment with my gynae who did all previous surgeries and he prescribed Prostap but said I need another scan and if it is an endometrioma that we should look into a total Hysterectomy. So just waiting for another scan now.

Does anyone else have experience with these kind of cysts? I have had one removed just last year and hoping another hasn't formed already but it seems likely given my pain on that side. Would an endometrioma give you back pain? Also will Prostap help this kind of pain? I am worried if it is this and worried if it isn't if that makes sense as I am in so much pain and just completely fed up

I have been on prostrap injections for 7 months now I have 1 a month. I had a terrible pain in my right pelvis/hip/groin. After a scan they said it was another cyst. (The first one burst in 2017 I was rushed in to Have a

Clean out !! ) basically the injections didn’t stop my pain however I was given Estrogel gel to try 2 months ago and that has helped me a great deal with my cyst pain.
