Hi all,
Has anyone had a chocolate cyst develop whilst on Zoladex?
I had a scan beginning on May and no cysts, had another scan last Monday and a 3x3cm cyst on my left ovary.
I’m 3 months in to Zoladex.
Xx

Hi Katie,
I am unsure about a cyst forming but whilst on Prostap previously my chocolate cyst grew considerably which I was quite shocked about. My Gynae did say though that hormone therapy is not an actual treatment for the endo but more for management of pain.
Are you in any pain?
xx
Thank you for your reply
Yes the pain has been awful, I was admitted to hospital with it. I have endometriosis but this is my first chocolate cyst. I’m now taking tramadol and that has controlled the pain a bit, just waiting to see my consultant.
Did you have pain with yours? X
Yes I had a lot of pain but also had deep infiltrating endo throughout pelvis, I had a lap to remove the cyst and endo in August last year and started getting left sided pain again around feb, had a scan in April which showed a small endometrioma (choc cyst) on my left ovary (had one on the right before) Even though it’s small i am I’m so much pain mainly on that side and also ended up in A&E. The pain radiates to my back and through to my legs/pubic bone/bottom area it’s awful. My Gynae said these cysts are an indication of severe endo and because I’ve already had 3 laps to remove endo and cysts he is now considering a total hysterectomy and I am on the prostap injection. Hate this disease! Are you working? I’ve had the past 2 weeks off but going back in tomorrow and dreading it but feel so guilty being off work. Sending hugs 🤗 xx
Your story sounds similar to me, I’ve had two laps so far, last one in June 2018 and my pain returned January this year. I’m on the Zoladex implant to try and reduce my symptoms whilst I have further investigations by colorectal surgeon. It’s never ending isn’t it! Cyst pain is so painful, until I started tramadol I could hardly walk with the pain. I work full time but I’ve been off nearly 4 weeks, I’m hoping to go back next week. It’s extra stress being off work isn’t it, I feel so guilty too. Sending you lots of hugs too 💛💛
