Coeliac's disease and Endometriosis

Howdy! I'm interested to see how many of you out there also have the coeliac's disease and endometriosis?

I'm convinced there is a correlation between autoimmune diseases and endometriosis and would be interesting to see if this is the case. Knowing it is hard to get rightfully diagnosed with the coeliac's disease (took me 25 years of blood tests, gastroscopy, biopsy etc until one day a smart doctor simply took the gene test which clearly showed I had the gene. Been strictly gluten-free for 12 years now). The few times I have been glutened due to cross contamination etc, my endometriosis pain just seems to flare up.

It's estimated that as many as 10% of the UK population still isn't diagnosed with the coeliac's disease.

What are your thoughts on this?

Interesting question. I was tested a few years ago. My colonoscopy was negative however I react badly to gluten so was classified as 'non coeliac gluten sensitive' but I have psoriasis which is another autoimmune disorder. Some doctors believe there is an autoimmune element to endometriosis and to me this makes a lot of sense!

Same for me! I have been sensitive to both wheat and gluten since I was very young - but have been tested for Coeliac disease around 5 times and always comes back negative.

I would imagine this happens a lot

Did they take the genetic test on you? Either way, don't eat gluten if you know our makes you sick! All the best!

Hi. I'm similar to others. Gluten sensitivity but no test. My gp said there was no point because I have followed the gluten free diet for so long now with positive results. I also have asthma and many other food allergies and intolerances most of which correlate with aggravating endometriosis. I too have skin conditions and multiple allergies to non food stuff e.g pets, pollen, dressings, medications, lotions, shower gels ect. I would also be interested to find out if any of this does correlate with endometriosis?
