So I had to go to A&E last night as I nearly threw up/passed out at my friends house with the pain. I had taken naproxen and cocodamol which did not touch this, as stated on my last post I get really severe periods and have been referred to gynaecology but I’m on a long waiting list. After about 3/4 hours I was seen and given oramorph for the pain, after finally finding a vein they also took bloods. The GP was so lovely and understanding and gave me diclofenac suppositories as she stated this is the best and quickest pain relief which really helped last night. She said that I needed to go to an iCash clinic as they specialise in contraception and go on the combined pill without a period (my other doctors told me I couldn’t do this because of the hormones in it?) but she reassured me this was fine and if I did not bleed whilst on this it would be the best thing until I have my referral. Is anyone else on the combined pill who suffers from severe period pain or has used diclofenac regularly?

Hi, so sorry to hear how much pain you have been in. I ended up in a and e loads with severe pain before diagnosis. Once someone mentioned the possibility of endo my GP told me to take my combined pill continuously. I was still in agony but it helped not having a period. I'm now three months after my diagnostic lap and excision. Once my prostap has finished I'm going on the contraceptive patch with only four breaks a year. My gynaecologist says not having a period does not do you any harm. I hope you get sorted soon. Best wishes x
Hi, l really feel for you, the pain is awful, at times l feel like going a&e but l just don’t know what they will do. I was on HRT but when l seen the Gynae he said to come off it is as it was probably feeding the endometriosis, It’s not made any difference lm still in a lot of pain and the fatigue is no different. Just double check the combined pile with your GP and gynaecologist. Hope your sorted soon!
