endo laparoscopy

Hi, I had a laparoscopy last Thursday so 1 week and 1 day ago today. I’m still bleeding from the op- I would say it’s like a light period everyday and I’ve got stomach/back ache all the time. My bladder also feels very sensitive when I wee. I feel unwell, but that is improving slightly day to day. I’m just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and if this relatively normal? With my op they removed a single area of endo and separated some adhesions on my bowel. They said the op went well. I know it’s only been about a week and they would have been moving about inside my tummy, but I’m such a worrier and would appreciate any advise/similar stories. Thanks :)

Hi jodiemlx. I think you sound like you’re doing very well for a week and a day post lap. I felt the same things as you and it felt like forever to recover but you will get there. My advice is to take it easy and listen to your body. Im four weeks post lap now and although I’ve had awful fatigue, the pain side of things eased after about two and a half weeks. Hope that helps x

Thanks so much for replying! It feels like you’re never going to get better. Suppose every body is different when it comes to recovery x

I know! There’s no way I could be back at work already. It’s so uncomfortable and hate that I keep bleeding. Thanks so much for replying- has really reassured me that others have been through the same thing. The sickness has subsided a lot thank god. It’s the pain in my tummy, back and bleeding more so now. Thanks so much for replying, hope you recover well too x

I had my lap on the same day and I’m very up and down. Wednesday was a good day then Thursday felt like I had taken three steps backwards.

My bleeding has stopped but I find the longer I hold a wee the more it hurts :(.

I’m slowly learning to take each day as it comes. Wishing you a speedy recovery xx

I had my lap two weeks and one day ago and felt exactly as you did this time last week! If anything I think it sounds like you're recovering amazingly well, so well done and be kind to yourself :)

I was expecting to feel 100% better and cured by now but I'm still pretty knackered. The soreness is definitely getting better though, and the sensitive weeing has gotten better too! So I hope you make a very speedy recovery, lots of love to you xx

Hello, I’m a week tomorrow since my laparoscopy, mine went well they found adhesion (my bowel and uterus were stuck together) but they were unable to remove the Endo as it was too close to my bowel and they didnt think it was safe to do so. I have been feeling in pain still, mostly cramping but the ward told me it’s because of the surgery

Hope your recovery continues well x
