Three months after laparoscopy

Hi all,

I had a laparoscopy mid February. Endo was removed from the ligament of my uterus and was also found on my ovary. All on my left side. My recovery has been quite slow. Originally my pain has always been on my right side. However since my laparoscopy I am now in pain on the left. Pretty much some form of pain everyday. Sharp ovary pain during ovulation and the most annoying is like a weird tugging sensation on my groin ligament, v painful .

I had my follow up on Monday but unfortunately my surgeon was off and was replaced with a terrible registrar. He basically told me the mirena was the only option (I'm against this as my body tends to reject anything and I am allergic to life lol) or to put my ovaries to sleep. These were his words! For context I am 33 and have no children.

Basically I am just so confused with what to do next. I asked to be reffered to this hospital as they have a specialism in endo. But am disgusted in my after care.

I am currently changing my gp and will ask to be reffered to another hospital.

I managed to get this registrar to give me a prescriptionfor progesteron only pill, which I previously tried but didn't work, but hoping after lap it might alleviate something. I can't take oestrogen.

Is this pain normal, is this just endo? Any advice appreciated.

Thanks for listening

Kim xx

Also just a side note. No alleviation in any pain since the op. If anything periods are more painful plus all the usual endo symptoms x Any one experienced the same?

Hey Kim,

Sorry to hear you’re having a tough time of it of late. Have you tried to manage symptoms through diet/ alternative therapies at all?

Good choice on turning down the Mirena. I’m about to do a post on my experience with the mirena and how it’s effected me and the delightful Mirena Crash that’s still raging 10 weeks later xxx

Thanks for your reply. Sorry to hear it didn't work out. I'm looking into alternative diets atm, since my lap my bowel movements haven't been `normal' and lots of tugging in my stomach and ligaments when I do. Drs are just currently passing this off as more endo or IBS. I'll be sure to read your post. Thanks x
