Can symptoms flare and ease?

Hi all, still trying to get a diagnosis for my o going symptoms. Just wondering if anyone can tell me if when you have endo can your symptoms go through bad or worse flares then ease for some months? I’m sure I have endo but I can go through periods where the pain is a lot more manageable than others, it’s still there but but not as debilitating. Just wondering if once you have endo that gets to the severe pain end does it continuously stay the same level or can it dip and ease at times to then flare again? Thanks so much for any help xx

Hello,

Mine is very changeable and very unpredictable! I have twinges of pain which go from uncomfortable to shooting pain that takes my breath away, dull pains which hurt when I sit down and then the unbearable, crippling pains that completely knock me sideways! But I'm not guaranteed to get the unbearable pain every cycle so I'm kinda just on edge, waiting. I get the other two types pretty much all the time - they seem to tag team me!

I have been diagnosed through internal scans investigating my ovaries but haven't had a lap yet to see if it is anywhere else. I hope this eases your mind, even if just a little bit, about the pains you get. I wouldn't rule out endo yet if I where you.

Thank you for the reply, that’s helpful to know. Saw a consultant yesterday who just said to try one of the three contraceptive options and see if it helps. They wouldn’t do any investigation until I had tried one of those which I’m reluctant to put hormones in with no diagnosis so back to square one! Thanks x

It will certainly flair and ease depending on the time of month, your activities and even what you eat sometimes (or sometimes it can seem random).
