Hi all! I had a diagnosis Lapo nearly 2 weeks ago which they treated endometriosis in also.. I’m not getting much pain throughout the day but the 2 stitches in my belly button are really painful in the mornings when I wake up, it’s a sharp pain.. but I can’t see if they look sore as they are deep in my belly button.. also the nurses told me my stitches are dissolvable but I’ve shown a few people them and they say different as on my side and bikini time cuts the stitches look like white string and are hanging out of my body??? So I keep catching them on my clothes and nails!
Can some one advise me please??

Also to add to this, I’m still really bloated and feel tired.. I put on 8lb in the first week of the op as I’m usually quite active day to day. I’m still unsure wether to go back to the gym yet with feeling so tired all the time or wether to just get back into it regardless?
They are dissolvable sutures and can take up to 6 weeks to fall off. The suture dissolves inside and the knot falls off. I find I cut the knot off after 2 weeks with a thin pair of clean scissors which I poor boiling water over the blades. Get someone the lightly pull the knot and then snip. You will get pains around the suture - that’s normal. Bloating will be worse if your not moving around so please gently do walking and build up as your body allows. That will ease the bloating and discomfort. The fatigue can take a while to go as your internal organs have been through a lot. Gently increase activity and it will ease. Best wishes
My pain continued for a few weeks after surgery, particularly if you’re not allowing yourself to rest (I find it hard to sit still!) so I think the pain is normal.
If the stitches/wounds are infected they are likely to be hot to touch and red around the wound/stitch or have fluid seeping from them. I remember worrying mine were infected but eventually healed up nicely. A nurse at your doctors practice would have a look for you that’s what I did.
