Laporoscopy yesterday found severe endo after 13 years OK, so no fibroid removal or hysterectomy could be done for now. Devastated

Had first stage 4 endo removed 16 years ago. Had Marina fitted for 13 years and had no problems. Then I had 2 fibroids which caused major bleeding so coil removed and hormone treatments tried esmya, hormone injection every 3 months with hrt - still having these, provera and transamic acid not working. Treatments were to shrink fibroids but they have grown as has the endo.

Bleeding for months on end flooding some days and massive clots. Yesterday was to remove fibroids but endo is back severe and now been referred to Pinderfields specialist endo centre- anyone any experience of this hospital?

How long have people had to wait when being referred?

My gyni was trying to bide me time getting through the menopause then the fibroids would go and going for hysterectomy was the last resort as I can't go on much longer like this. But hysterectomy now complicated by severe endo. I am now 55 has anyone had fibroids or hysterectomy done so late on?

Thought yesterday I would have woken up on road to recovery but now it starts all over again at Pinderfields. Feeling low knowing I have months of bleeding and pelvic and back pain to put up with and fatigue due to anaemia etc.

Off to have my peppermint tea forgot how painful trapped gas in the shoulder is.

Any older ladies out there with your experience to share most welcome.

Hi Morvena, Sorry to hear you are suffering so badly. I had severe Endo and Adeno all my life, and my quality of life had got so bad that I decided that Hysterectomy was the only solution for me. I was 49 when I had a total hysterectomy. It will be two years ago next month, and I it was the absolute BEST thing I ever did. I have no pain, no bleeding, and no fatigue. I didn't realise how ill Endo and Adeno made me feel until it had all been taken away. If it helps with your decision, then my opinion is, at your age, I would go for a hysterectomy. It really isn't as awful as you might think. Good luck with your decision. x
