Just had my first consultation and have swapped from microgygnon to desogestrel.
Been told to try this for 4 months and if it doesn’t help the next step would be the key hole surgery.
Anyone had experience on this tablet? Did it stop periods completely?
UPDATE : swapped to this pill. I’m now currently having the longest period I have had in 10 years. It’s really taking its toll on me, I’m so tired and emotional. I’m really struggling with the not knowing when it will finish and when I will start again.

I recently started taking desogestrel. I bled for 10 days the first time I had my period while on it, and then 15 days the next month and by the third month the bleeding became normal, I spotted for about 2days .
It takes a while for your system to get used to it ( at least in my case) but it helped with the pain, and also normalised my period days because I would ordinarily bleed twice a month prior to when I started the single hormone pill.
I had three months supply and had to go back to the gynaecologist for another 3 months supply which I am currently taking but I have been booked for a keyhole surgery which would happen anytime soon.
Fingers crossed the Lap would make some significant difference, although I am not looking forward to the part where I have to sit at home for three weeks.
