How to treat retroverted uterus?

I would like to know if some of you were diagnosed with a tilted uterus and were able to reposition it back. I've read that if the tilted uterus is due to endometriosis that there is pretty much nothing to be done. I did some sessions of pelvic floor physiotherapy without any good results. I haven't been officially diagnosed with endometriosis yet, but the doctor sait he cannot assured me that I don't have it either. I have a deep pain during intercourse (strong back pain) and I just want to know the options I have in order to ease the pain (I used to have painless sex).

They don’t typically ‘treat’ it as it’s not usually the cause of any symptoms! A lot of women have it and don’t even know it. It’s pretty common and not really something to be concerned about. Your pain is likely due to something else (endo maybe?)

Thanks for your response. I read a lot about it and some of the symptoms is painful intercourse and painful periods (my periods are ok). I also know that some of the treatments include: hormone therapy, pelvic exercises, a pessary, and/or surgery. I just want to know if someone has done any of this with successful results. I’ve been dealing with this for over 5 years and nobody seems to know exactly what I have. :(

Unfortunately, from my experience, these things won’t do much to treat it. Surgery could reposition it or cut away adhesions that are causing the retroversion, but I’ve never actually seen them treat it unfortunately. I would really lean towards thinking you have another condition that is causing this much pain and the retroversion. Good luck finding answers!

Thanks! I’ll probably ask for a second opinion (which is actually more like a third or fourth already).

I’ve got a retroverted uterus. It makes ultrasounds more difficult but there is apparently no point correcting it.

I have been told it won’t affect fertility and I’ve conceived naturally once - although 2nd time around has been impossible. X

Thanks for your response. I’m glad you were able to have a child. Actually, I don’t mind in what position is the uterus as long as it doesn’t interfere with my sex life. Right now it’s impossible to me to have sex because as soon as the penetration is deep I will have a super strong pain in the back and I will have to push the guy out. So it would be impossible to me to get pregnant even if I wanted to. But infertility is not the issue here, I just want to have a normal sex life (which I used to have). At the beginning they thought it was endometriosis, then a 3cm ovary cyst (which is not there anymore), now a retroverted uterus... It seems that nobody knows what the real problem is. :(

Oh crap, I assume you’ve been to a consultant about this?

Occasionally, certain times in the month (after ovulation oddly) I get pain in certain positions. I may go on the pill if I don’t get pregnant as I seemed to be fine while on it xx
