Hello, I was recently diagnosed with endometriosis. I feel that my obgyn has not really explained to me what this means and how it can be treated. I do know that I am in pain all the time even when not having my period. But when I am on my period-- the pain is unbearable!

I feel that she is pushing me to have a hysterectomy. I am not sure if this is what I want to do as it seems pretty major! I do not howver want to have children and I am not exactly "young" ;(

But I'd rather not have major surgery if I do no have o as I have ha 2 past minor surgeries which were difficult because of my reactions to anesthesia

Will a hysterectomy help me, will the pain be gone, has anyone had the procedure and felt relief??

thanks so much

Thank you RoseM6 for your response. I know a lot about fibroids but hardly anything about endometriosis. But I am doing a lot of research and finding that many women get hysterectomies unnecessarily and like you said it doesn't always help and there could be some side effects from the surgery. Thank you for your response and the information.

Hi. RoseM6 has given you a massively helpful reply so I want to add that nutrition and self care can also help with pain. I suffer unbelievable excruciating pain and I have to say shaking up what I put in and on my body has been better for me (and the environment). Happy to share what I've done if you are interested... good luck.
