So upset!!!

Doctor has refused to give me morphine and I just don’t understand why!! She has also refused to give me a sick note before. I don’t understand her problem. I have been sat in her office crying because of the pain before. I just don’t get it. The morphine I took this morning is starting to wear off and I have already taken two tramadol but they r not touching the pain. I can’t see me getting any sleep tonight because the pain is so bad. I have to wait till tomorrow morning now to then try and get an emergency appointment. This doctor is a woman aswel you would think she might understand a bit more, maybe she just thinks I’m weak? Sorry about the rant guys just don’t no who else to talk too xxx

Hey, im sorry to hear you are going through all this pain. In my experience I have found that sometimes the female doctors are actually less understanding than the men (I don’t know if they just don’t understand properly or what) but at one point I switched to seeing a male doctor at my gp practice until he left as he made me feel so much more comfortable and didn’t tell me to just take paracetamol like that would even touch the pain! I don’t have morphine so not sure the rules on prescribing it though. Could you ask the reasoning behind not getting it prescibed if it is part of your pain management?

I do know that doctors are reluctant to write a sick note if a week or less as you can actually sign yourself off, not sure how long you were off though?

Definately don’t need to be sorry about having a rant on here though, I think we all do it! I know I have anyway haha
