I'm new to endometriosis Uk. I was diagnosed with server endometriosis october 2018 after 1.5 years of umbilical bleeding during my period and no other symptoms.
I had a laproscopy in october to remove the endometriosis in the umbilical sadly last month the bleeding returned and i am getting more symptoms. Follow up appointment isn't until July!
Symptoms now include during period IBS, fatigue, not emptying bladder properly - almost squeezing last drop out, and abdominal pain. Does surgery make the endometriosis worse? Who else has umbilical bleeding? - it is gross!
Feel like I need support now. Thanks!

Welcome! I’m new here too! Diagnosed last month from an MRI scan and I’m having my first Laparoscopy on the 23rd April. I’m so sorry to hear you’ve had such a rough time and that it isn’t getting better. I can relate to the IBS, fatigue, and bladder issues. I’m on a gluten free and dairy free diet as my consultant recommended that to me as I have suggest Endometriosis in the bowel as I’ve had other symptoms. I am 17 and in my first year of sixth form college, I’ve missed a whole term. Not been in since October from the pain and physically not being about to get up. I find myself not being able to stay away during the day even if I’ve had 12 hours of sleep during the night! I’m also having a lot of UTIs which suggests I also have endo in my bladder. Endo was only spotted in the pouch of Douglas and around the uterus on my MRI. We’re all here to support each other x
Hi, thanks for the support. You poor thing...UTIs are not fun. Someone has suggested primrose oil for the pain..have you tried this? I might give it a go. I would rather not take tablets. I decided to go on a vegan diet too but doesn't seem to be relieving symptoms. Hope the op goes ok xx
I haven’t tried primrose oil but I’ll give it a try! I’m on morphine, naproxen, paracetamol etc but they still don’t take the pain away. I hope you get some answers. It’s bad how long you have to wait. Thank you x
I haven't heard of umbilical bleeding before, and haven't suffered with that myself but I can relate to pain when using the toilet and the struggle to empty your bladder. I no longer have a period as had the novasure procedure due to unbearably heavy and long periods. I had to be serialized too but already have 2 wonderful children so for me that procedure helped with the heavy periods that lasted 3 weeks. I was in for 3 off for 1!! I wouldn't say that surgery makes it worse but in my experience the endometriosis mass that's sat between my bowel and uterus was found by laparocopy in 2007 bit not treated because it was on my bowel. So because it was there the endo tissue will continue to grow. Roll forward 12 years during this time the endo eased, I had 2 children, it wasn't until after my daughter was born in 2011 that the endo began to show. Now I'm I've been in pain since January. I'm on narproxine, tramadol and oramorph waiting for a gyne appt to discuss MRI and make a plan. However as simple as that seems my appointment has been cancelled so I'm trying to get one asap as don't go on like this.
I have waffled some what, sorry 🤣
Just don't feel alone because your not. This forum has been a great help to me and many other women alike.
Keep strong and continue to go to your GP. This disease is debilitating and nasty and you don't need to and shouldn't suffer, not in this day and age.
Thanks lovely. I am 34 years old with no children trying to conceive...at my next appointment i will discuss fertility, but if i do have a child i will be looking at preventing periods etc. I hope you get a plan together and the pain can be resolved 😩 xx
