Bleeding after 8 months on the mirena ?

Hi wondering if anyone could shed some light on this .. had my second laparoscopy back in June and the mirena fitted at the same time . I bled for about a month then it settled down i was more or less pain free and havent had a period since . Today however i have started bleeding and the pain is bad . Does anyone know why after around 8 months i have come on again.

I think it can happen with the mirena. It's good you have been bleed free for 8 months. I bled constantly for a year whilst on it, after this the doctor agreed to take it out as clearly wasnt for me. I would see if it settles again, I know a close friend and she has the mirena but has a light period every few months and thats normal for her. If it is heavy though I would speak with your doctor.

That coils a bitch. I bled heavily for 4 months when I had it put in then bled all the time and was in agony until I had my hysterectomy. Certainly wouldn't recommend it.
