I had my second laparoscopy yesterday to remove a suspected Endometrioma with other minimal deposits of Endometriosis and fibroids.
It turns out the Endometrioma was actually a Dermoid Cyst which they were still able to remove via laparoscopy because it was slightly smaller than the MRI had suggested. They also removed Endo deposits but kept the fibroids in because it was too dangerous to remove them but they’re quite small.
Has anybody ever been operated on to remove an Endometrioma but it turned out to be a Dermoid Cyst? I’m a bit confused by that!
Is removing a Dermoid Cyst as equally damaging to the ovary as removing an Endometrioma?
I was told a Dermoid Cyst is nothing to do with Endometriosis, is that right?
Thank you in advance ☺️ and Happy Endometriosis Awareness Month! xx

Last week a lump size of golf ball appeared in groin disappeared as soon as i took macrobid ? Was concerned as have utis acute 3 weekly with pyuria[ sepsis] implicated & on both sides of family a genetic predisposition to cancer . Two years ago was told had endometrius 9mm thick in relation to deep seated hardish lumps in groin which became smaller then ignored .There is also a liver cyst .An NHS confirmed a private diagnosis .Now saying don't have even though excrutiating pain had with my spinal area is back with a vengence & GPs ignoring the renewal steroid injections need with sedation as private sector won't do.
Have wondered whether mild cystic fibrosis could underly as many other symptons when investigated with confirmed fibromyalgia /prolapses & nerve trapped .
