Over two weeks after my laparoscopy, I’m still waiting to hear back from my consultant about what they found/did. GP is chasing this for me as she indicated that it wasn’t normal but I’m wondering as anybody else had this and been told absolutely nothing?

Sorry to hear that! Yes it is very odd that you were not told the results the same day as the lap! Did you recover okay and go home the same day?
Most people are told once they are out of the recovery room and back on the ward or own room? Hope you get answers soon as it’s not nice being in a position where you don’t know what’s going on! Stay strong, hope you are recovering well! Xx
I went home the same day yes. It was my understanding that I would hear on that day, hence my confusion! Thanks for the reply
After my first lap, the consultant came by to tell me the findings after I had apparently woken up. As an effect of the anaesthetic, I had literally no memory of this whatsoever and woke up later asking if the operation had happened and if anyone could tell me what had been done. In my case I was in overnight and they saw me again the next day before discharge to explain, thankfully.
I wonder if it might be faster if you ring the consultants’s secretary or gynaecology department secretary yourself to say you’d like an appointment or phone call with someone who can explain what happened and the next steps.
Thank you for the suggestion. I had to go to the GP, so they said they would write a letter to my consultant as the earliest appointment I could get was February. I rang back up today and managed to get an appointment next week with my consultant. I do feel that I should not have had to chase my results but instead should have been recovering!
