I was prescribed cerazette at my last appointment at endometriosis specialist clinic. I had excision surgery two years ago.
Every month at ovulation and periods I have painful bowel movements, pain when needing a wee, stomach problems and also high tone pelvic dysfunction.
The idea is to stop my cycle with cerazette which I’m desperate to do!
I already suffer with generalised anxiety disorder.
I’ve been taking cerazette for six weeks now. My pain feels worse and since my period didn’t come (as hoped) my mental health has seriously got worse. I can’t stop crying, I’m in constant state of panic, I’m angry and I don’t want to say it but I feel suicidal.
I don’t know what to do as I really want something to help take the pain away but I can’t go on like this mentally, I feel like I’m gonna end up in hospital away from my little girl.
Can cerazette mental health side effects even happen this quick? Is there an alternative, please help x

I to was given cerazette and i was only on it for 2 weeks and ended up chucking them away i bleed the hole time while taking them and it also affected my mental health very badly to. A week after not taking them I’m back to normal,no bleeding and feel happy again. I think you should talk with your doctor and tell them how bad its affecting your mental health.
I have been told to go on these tablets too but I refuse to take anymore pills . Microgynon already messed me up. I’m just laying here trying to heal after keyhole surgery x
It's a common side effect. Do speak to your dr asap. You could try one of the other mini pills like noriday. Some people don't suit one but are fine on another. I've been on cerazette over a year and just bleed constantly, have no idea when my worst endo flare ups are going to hit but I'm trapped as nsaids causes erosive gastritis, I can't take anything but paracetamol now as the gastritis messed up my airways so too risky to have tramadol or codeine so having to wait it out for a hospital pain management appointment and I'll either switch to noriday or totally pack it in once I have suitable painkillers in place. If you're feeling so bad mentally Do see your dr and try a different pill. Xx
I get gastritis every time I ovulate or have a period, I had gastroscopy and had a small amount of erosion that’s one of the reasons I was really hoping this pill would work.
I couldn’t see doctor yesterday so after having panic attacks all day I pushed myself to carry on taking the cerazette. I’ll see if I can get doctors app today. X
Try not to get too downhearted. There are a number of pills to try but cerazette clearly isn't right for you. If you aren't able to get an appointment could you request a call from the dr? Tell reception you're in a really bad way and what's happening. Good luck! The 'good' thing is you've made the connection between your mental state and the pill - it's sometimes hard to when you feel so bad - so this will end soon but speaking to gp is a priority. Xx
Sadly it did the same to me and frightened me terribly as I was always had PMT but otherwise fairly stable. I got so cross with my daughter one day I ended up smacking her 3/4 times in a row! I went to gp and he was lovely. I thought I was going mad! Please speak to either your consultants secretary or GP. Best wishes xx
