Rant time

So I went to see the consultant at the beginning of October and was told I needed a scan first as I have fibroids as well as probable endo, it was agreed I would have a lap and am to have a hysterectomy following a failed ablasion earlier in the year but first I needed a scan. I had that and had a letter saying back to October saying that they would see me again in max 8 weeks. I rang the hospital as it is now 9 weeks since my appointment and was told that they made me an appointment at my last appointment for the 3rd Jan, I know nothing of this appointment. I begged them for something sooner as it will be 13 weeks since I was last there and I am so much worse now, but was told that there is nothing I can do other than ring every Monday and see if they have a cancellation. Is there anything I can do? The hospital have a target of 18 weeks from referal to treatment and it will be 25 weeks since I was refered by the time I get to see the consultant again and who knows how long after that. I feel so fed up now.

Tracy,

I really understand your fristration and fedupedness - Ive been here....

Many women are posting similar situations and Im kind of saying the same to all. To have surgery (if thats now required) over December would be a massive intrusion on your social and domestic abilities, you would basically be needing pj in bed recovery for weeks, especially if they find endometriosis and excise it again.

The NHS is in a crisis UK wide. Our turn around time for referrals in Northern Ireland is 18 MONTHS to 2 years on routine surgeries and things like back pain clinic are at 3 years waiting list. I do see your stats and wish it were like that here!...I went private in March and now I am 18 months in on my nhs waiting list Im still not hearing when I can have a pre Op! I need another laparoscopy already - its a disgrace in the nhs......

Cant you have a good aulde hoolie bringing in the holiday season and medicate 😉😉😉😉 (I always need lots of wine to function)

Ask your GP for a better painkiller to get you through.

Do you hurt from the ablation site? Where is your pain? Try to enjoy the festivities and rejoin your health crusade in January.

I think but Im not saying 100% some ladies feel somehow a December appointment will have them set right for the holidays when its such a major surgery that you really need to be super ready and super prepared for the recovery time in bed!

Its such a busy time of year and to be out flat on your back can be a very hard thing to go through especially when theres so much to be done!!!!!

Just consider your revovery and whos going to be able to literally be your handmaiden.....

I take it that its an investigatory laparoscopy you need?

Good luck...

Helly.
