I have had a cough for a week now. Last week I had a few days feeling awful and really unwell, however I've taken it easy and trying to do anything I can do shift it. At times my chest hurts and it's a bit of a chesty cough, other times it's like a dry cough.
I am having a diagnostic and treatment lap on Wednesday. I have waited for months for this day, after having had such severe pain and symptoms that I have been off work for the past 4 months. I literally cannot imagine not having the lap due to how much my life has been impacted. I'm so worried my cough won't shift by Wednesday , I generally feel ok it's just the cough and the odd headache. Is it likely the surgeon will cancel it? Should I just see how I am on the day or should I be contacting them sooner, or should I mention it at all?
Any advice would be so welcomed
Thank you
P.S I will take complete responsibility for my own decision but seeking guidance, advice or experiences.

I cancelled my first lap thanks to a cold, not worth it, unless its pneumonia I wouldn't put it off. Take benylin day and night 1 tab with 1 tab 500mg paracetamol. Otrivine nasal drops and benylin dry coughs cough mixture are other things I swear by - I'm not a rep honest! Seriously though, it's two days away and you'll probably be much better by then. x
Thank you so much for replying, it does feel ever so slightly better today. I know what you mean, I've waited so long and without googling I can't imagine there are many risks with a bit of a cough
