I had a diagnostic laparoscopy a few weeks ago, but no endometriosis was found, and the surgeons said that everything looked okay, no adhesions or cysts either. My main problem is extremely bad pain during sex, which is causing problems with my relationship. I am on the combined pill but my periods are still very painful.
If this isn't endometriosis, what else could be causing the pain during sex? Someone please help

Ive had 2 laps. For extreme pain during sex and horrific periods but both times nothing was found.
I then saw a gynae who actually gave me a examination by hand and a camera and he said i had extreme scar tissue in my vaginal opening and that is why i bleed and find sex painful it the friction( tmi) when goin in and then being penetrates it literally rubbing it red raw.
I was asked if i had been sexually assorted or anything i said NO! I been with my husband since 17 he the FIRST ONE( if u know what i mean) and he is far from That kind of man.
There nothing they can do and i still cant have sex 2 years down line BUT i will say our sex life is way better now.. it not all about him and im not in pain through whole thing anymore GRINNING AND BEARING IT BASICALLY!
It now all fun and we both get pleasure out of it and we both do things we never did before( ie more foreplay)
So dont b disheartened....
Mayb u just need to relax more ie have a sneaky few drinks first make it fun.
As it could b phycological, i used go just clam up as soon as i knew where it was goin as i would just think “ oh great PAIN”!!!
Or there is something ( sorry cant remember the name it begin with V) that is a problem , it can b nerves or tightness.
Have u see a normal gynae? That has looked at u internally like a smear not gone straight in as endo and done laps?
I've had several appointments with a gynaecologist. I have had examinations done where they found a tiny amount of cervical erosion but I told that this small amount wouldn't cause the severe deep pain.
I've also had a trans-vaginal ultrasound where they checked for fibroids and any cysts on my ovaries, that also came back fine.
For the cervical erosion, I saw a consultant who was going to burn it away, by using a microscope and a camera, but when he looked inside, he said it wasn't big/significant enough to remove as it would cause a lot of scarring. This consultant was the one who referred me to have the laparoscopy as he said my symptoms sounded a lot like endometriosis.
See i was told any scar tissue in that area will hurt as it is very thin skin and tissue. If u rub it its goin to hurt and bleed!
I was sent to a womens health physio and she was really good( internal massage to soften the tissue down) and also relax the internal muscles and that helped but not with sex unfortunately.
Have u spoken to anyone about vaginimus and vaginistis and then theres another thing vulvydia( cannot remember or spell) it not always endo.
It’s very easy for endometriosis to be missed during laparoscopy. I would recommend seeing an endometriosis (particularly an excision) specialist as you definitely could still have endo. It could even be microscopic so unless they did a biopsy they can’t tell if it’s there.
