Anyone suffering problems years after taking Zoladex or another GnrH Analog?

I was on Zoladex for two years (2007-2009). I have suffered severe health problems ever since - I was first diagnosed with ME while on Zoladex, now they are saying fibromyalgia but many of my symptoms don’t fit that.

I’ve been trying to figure it out for a long time with no help at all from doctors who have been very dismissive of a possible link.

At first I thought it was my thyroid - I’ve paid for many private tests but my levels have been very variable, although always within normal range. I realised that my TSH levels were higher at the start and end of my cycle and lower during ovulation phase.

I decided to have my hormone levels tested this month and discovered that my oestrogen levels are extremely low. This would explain a lot of my symptoms and low oestrogen is also linked to thyroid issues. There is a type of hypothyroidism that’s related to the pituitary gland, which Zoladex works on. I haven’t figured it all out yet but I feel like I’m getting there.

Just wondered if anyone has any similar experiences. I found this article from America about Lupron and it is just so familiar.

I would like to maybe start a UK group for those affected by these issues so we can share info and help each other, as no doctors seem interested in helping.

Hiya sorry to hear you have had so many problems. I have been on Zoladex for 10 months I started to feel really tired and dizzy then I got chest pain and palpitations 5months in I had some bloods done and was diagnosed with an under active thyroid am now on thyroxine and an feeling much better but I’m convinced the Zoladex caused it. My thyroid levels were within range my my TSH was sky high and so were the Anti Bodies against my Thyroid it’s important they test all 3 x
