Hi girls I’ve recently found out that I have a 4.5 cm complex cyst and I was tested for CA-125 levels. My levels were normal BUT I am worried because the doctor still isn't clear what type of cyst do I have. His suspicion is between : chocolate, dermoid or hemorrhagic cyst. Does anyone knows if these types could be treated by medications, or removed by surgery? I AM VERY WORRIED because I've already had to made a surgery 3 years ago, removing a 14 cm cyst ( fluid) ... If anybody knows smth please share it with me <3
Can it be endometriosis?: Hi girls :) I’ve... - Endometriosis UK
Can it be endometriosis?
It doesn’t seem to be a chocolate cyst because if it was a chocolate cyst your ca-125 would be very high
As i know complex cysts they don’t go on their own or by injections laproscopy is the best for them
Especially chocolate cysts and dermoid cysts the other one I don’t know if it goes with medications
thanks for you answer Bdgjdjd. So the only way to figure out what type of cyst is it, is only by surgery (laparoscopy ) right?
The best way to discover them is by laproscopy
For me all the three doctors said i have dermoid the last one said for me that my symptoms indicate something else not dermoid it could be chocolate cyst but she was not sure
So i had the laproscopy and they told me that was a chocolate cyst not dermoid
I’ve had endometriomas (chocolate cysts) and also a large dermoid cyst removed surgically. Try not to panic about it. My ca125 was high, it’s reassuring that yours is normal. Mine were also larger than yours and removal laparoscopically was done, no open surgery. I had mri and ct imaging done before surgery the second time to determine what was going on, but nothing was confirmed until after surgery. Best wishes
thank you girli1969 , just another question: You had both chocolate and dermoid cyst at the same time?
Yes, but on different ovaries. I went into surgery expecting to have my left ovary and endometrioma removed (I’d previously had an emergency admission with a ruptured cyst. When they scanned (ultrasound) they couldn’t see my right ovary. When I came round after surgery I was told that they had drained cyst on the left and left that ovary in tact as they had discovered a 10cm endometrioma engulfing my right ovary. Two years later I had further surgery to remove the endometrioma on the left as it kept refilling and enlarging.
Hi, I had an MRI done in March 2017.I had a 4cm hemorrhagic cyst in my left ovary. My gyna told me it was nothing to be worried about and most likely would dissolve by itself. He asked me to do a follow up after 6months just to keep an the eye.I never did and I don't get any problems.Few months ago I had hsg test done with a different gyna and mentioned the hemorrhagic cyst to him.He said it was nothing and wouldn't be causing my issues conceiving.Hope that helps.
