Do you know what makes a thickening of the womb is it the condition Adenomyosis?

Is this thickening linked to painful periods?

Thank you.

Thank you Belle,

Sometimes I ask on a thread to get more knowledge, I was told I had visible Adenomyosis (the cells of the endometrium invade the womb) i supposedly had it on Ultra Sound and then 2 years later on MRI when the consultant pinned up the scan and pointed out sections of it to me.

Then, as we agreed to have my hysterectomy (I had painful periods and clotting, 3 days a month in bed but a host of other symptoms like chronic fatigue, muscle and finger joint weakness, shooting ovarian type pain, debilitating pain during ovulation, pms getting to 2 weeks of the month with a very sluggish period drop window extending every month wirh more pain and brown/black blood...Anyway, hysterectomy later and lathology showed no Adenomyosis albeit I was plastered in Endometriosis.

I know my womb looked "boggy" large and weighed large in the pathology report to confirm their sights on scan. I had another condition of cell proliferation that was named Wolfian Duct Remnants, one thing is I know my womb since its gone caused me havoc. I was amlost urinary incontinent and feel like my bladder has never workerd so well since my op.

I always wondered if a "thickened" womb waa also known as Adeno or do some of us just get thicker linings thus we shed more and as they say potential for Endometriosis is that backwash of menses that can go back through the cervix and thus attach to places causing endometriosis lesions.

Im actually writing a letter to my hospital pals department to ask for a report from the surgeon on what he saw during my Op.

My fear is that now I found I have endometriosis not even a hysterectomy can stop it dead, I had a bowel shave of it so know it was on an organ still inside me plus pelvic cavity.

Its all such a grey area eh.

Thank you and good luck!
