Colonoscopy & laparoscopy

Hi!

Check up for endo yesterday.

My consultant decided they are going to do a colonoscopy and then do a laparoscopy later on to remove the endo?

Just wondered how people’s experiences were with a colonoscopy ? Or having both?

Hi Hun, I have regular colonoscopy's ( not Endometriosis related ) & they aren't as bad as I imagined them to be. For me the bowel prep medication beforehand is the worst thing but my dad & brother find that ok. I have sedation so it's sometimes a tiny bit uncomfortable during the procedure but I have never found it painful, with me that tends to be when they are nearing the end. I am bloated & gassy afterwards ( sorry if TMI but it's true ) but feel perfectly fine a couple of hours afterwards. It's definitely the most undignified thing I have to have done but normally the Dr & staff are lovely so talk to you a lot so you don't even think about it. Wishing you all the best. I can't help with the laparoscopy though as all my Endometriosis surgery has been open surgery. Xx
