Just an update on my last post - I’ve just been to see my consultant and he’s going to do a total hyterecromy in 4 weeks - ovaries, tubes, uterus and cervix.
He’s starting me on a nasal spray to stop my ovaries working now and HRT patches and also treatment for my IC. (Putting some liquid into my bladder)
All is fabulous news for me as hopefully there is a light at the end of this 15yr pain filled tunnel.
This consultant didn’t do my last two procedures and said ‘I haven’t been in your abdomen for a long time (9yrs) And said ‘if I get in and don’t find endo, obviously I won’t do the hysterectomy’ And I’m thinking - what! How can it not be there, my last diorhermie was 3yrs ago and things are worse than ever. If I wake up and find he hasn’t done it I will be beyond inconsolable.
He also said the route my Other consultant was pushing me down - marina coil - is totally the wrong thing to do considering my history. I am so pleased I got a second opinion and went back to the man who diagnosed me all those years ago.
If you’re not happy with the treatment plan offered to you, I urge women to seek a second opinion.
