Copper coil....

Has anyone got/had the copper coil?

I can’t handle the pill because of the hormones and the mirena coil helped with my endo pain for a year but then stopped helping and gave me anxiety and depression.

I’m just wondering if the copper coil would be better as it has no hormones whatsoever?

Although I have heard it gives you heavier and more painful periods which I already have enough of!

Hi Meg. I had a copper coil for 10 years because like you, I can't handle the hormones either and I had no problems. For me, it was the best form of contraception. In terms of using it to treat endometriosis, I can't give an opinion. I'm new to this. I received my endo diagnosis yesterday. If I were you, I'd Google anything and everything. I realised that we are all on this forum because we are different... in the sense that doctors treat what is 'common'. They treat what they see every day and don't stop to think out the box. We are the lonely people who fall in the 1% of rare cases that get overlooked. The internet is a wonderful tool... If I were you, I'd read up on anything and everything and challenge the doctors before I make huge decisions that can affect your life. All the best to you!
