Pain during sex

Does anyone else suffer with painful sex? I'm just so fed up with it. It's been years since I've been able to have sex without being in agony, both during and after. I'm only 23, and I can't stand the thought that this might never get better. I've been doing physio for nearly a year now, and I've only made a little bit of progress. I've been doing my best with it, but I've spent hours at this point massaging my vagina, rubbing creams in, doing breathing exercises. And then when my partner and I tried to have sex on Friday night, it still hurts as much as it did a year ago. I feel like no one really understands what I'm going through, or how much it's impacting me not to be able to have a full sex life. All I get from friends is "oh, but you can do other things" which of course you can, but sometimes you do actually want to have full penetration and besides, I feel so ugly and freak like I don't fancy the other things anyway. Does anyone have any tips, or advice? I'm honestly desperate at this point.

I didn’t want to read and run- I know how painful it can be, mine is a little different as it doesn’t hurt initially but I get the pain afterwards - can be an hour after could be up to a day after.

Sadly I don’t have any advice but I wanted you to know you’re not alone. Hopefully someone may have some advice or suggestions. Sending love xx

Hi I get horrendous pains during, it can be absolute agony. It depends on the time of month for me but really I don’t know if it will hurt a lot or a little until actually taking part. Can you try different positions?! Might help x

Hi I’m completely the same, I’m 25 and it’s not got better and it has impacted on my relationships! And it’s annoys me too when my friends say there are other things you can do, at the end of the day yeah you can but being in a relationship the guy wants penetration and actual sex. Unfortunately I don’t have any advice because I’m looking for some too!! I was thinking of doing physio but I don’t know if there’s any point xx

Hi I read your post and I totally feel for you I am exactly the same. I went to the doctors from the age of 20 complaining that it hurts .. they said it might be because i had a sti which I didn’t and every time I went back which was a lot they always said the same. I’m now 29 and Upto a few months ago I kept getting fobbed off. I had my lap op a few weeks ago and endometriosis was diagnosed up till then I never realised that it could cause pain through sex as every doctor iv seen has always fobbed me off. I’m hoping for some advise at my app in a few weeks as I feel like me and my partner of 11 years are struggling with it xx

Yes i have same problem, im 44 and sex has always been painful for me and as ive got older it got worse...

Now i not had sex in 2 years as i bleed and literally am red raw couple days after, on seeing a gynae found out it was not endo that was causing it i had a inch mound of scar tissue in opening of vagina thats what rubs and bleeds.

Not much i can do about that but at least i know what it is now...

Husband very understanding, he doesnt wana have sex when he can see me bleeding he says it turns him off so we do “‘other stuff” which has actually made us closer and our sex life is better as i actually orgasm whereas with sex i was always in so much pain i never ever did.

I tell u what does help though, having a few drinks before, mayb go out get dressed up have few drinks get relaxed then come home and try as sometime the more we think about it the more tense stresses and tight we get! A little alcohol can help just relax it all
