Afraid so! Whole reason I went to the Dr, lap confirmed endo on my bowel

I had a lap done about 5 weeks ago. They found endo and adhesions but said my bowel was clear of endo. I'm really not happy and would like a second opinion. I've been bleeding from my bottom on my period and also having the painful BMs. The lady that done my operation was a specialist in menopause, and has no extpertese in endo, so I'm really not confident in her findings. So feel like I'm going crazy at the moment.

That's so odd. The man who did my diagnostic lap wasn't an endo specialist but he still found it.

Weirdly enough I had a consultation with the dr who will be doing my actual removal surgery yesterday and he asked if I was passing blood (i'm not), if that's something the actual endo specialist said to me surely that's something yours should be looking out for. Either way i would 100% go back to your GP and say, i know how excruciating the bowel movements are.

They found endo but have just dismissed me from all care without a treatment plan or anything to manage my pain. When I questioned my surgeon on what she had found and on endo, she was very clueless. She told me to just change my diet and drink plenty of water and the endo will not return. This is after ablation surgery, where she left my bowel adhered! My GP is just as dismissive and so clueless about endo. They all seem to think I'm cured.

I feel at the end of my tether now.

You're joking! Can you see a different doctor? My original GP was awful so I just called and said I don't want to see 'x' doctor put me in with somebody else. I'm sure if they find endo they cant just dismiss it.

Ablation surgery is what I have coming up - i'm stumped because i've never been told it means you cant have kids but i've been given a leaflet that states its not for people who want kids? i'm baffled

Oh my god, you're kidding???? That's what I've just had!! No one has even suggested this to me!! Where did you get the leaflet? All I've ever wanted is to be a mother, I'm only 21 and just amn't ready for children yet. I didnt even know that this affects your chances. Apparently excision is far better, as it helps prevent quick regrowth and decreases the chance of reoccurance. They are so reluctant to offer this on the NHS, i've discovered.

I was literally provided it after my consultation. I've got a phonecall with the DR on monday because i cant believe he wouldn't mention it. But if you google endometrial ablation pregnancy it's like the first thing that comes up

Not what you're looking for?
