How bad or good are they? How many incisions?

I have lots of scars on my body however none on my stomach & that’s all away to change :(

What did you use on them after surgery?

I have previously used Bio Oil but didn’t find that it worked for me unfortunately.

I have had 3 incisions, 1 in my belly button so you cannot see anything, 1 on my right side and when the stitches dissolve will be the size of a tiny tiny nail head and 1 on my left that is quite big but I am not concerned when it heals. I have a huge appendix scar before the days of keyhole so nothing can beat that scar on my tummy.

Hey, I had one on my bikini line and one in my bellybutton.

The bikini line one looked like a small razor cut and has disappeared now (a month later)

My bellybutton is still stitched up though 😫 and could last up to 6 months before the stitches dissolve.

I didn’t use anything as it was such a small cut xxxxx

Frankincense oil can help reduce appearance of scars

Hi

My three from my first laparoscopy are nowhere to be seen (I had that done in 2017) and I have four from this surgery (two on my stomach, one bikini line and one in my belly button). I’m 4 weeks into recovery now and other than being a little bit red, they’re only just there so don’t worry :) x

Hey - mine are interesting. I have six from two procedures; three each time.

My most recent (hysterectomy) scars are smaller than my diagnostic/treatment lap and were closed with glue instead of stitches. I think they will disallowed. The belly button one is almost invisible.

The diagnostic lap scars are from Feb this year and were all closed with stitches. All remain visible - particularly the belly button one which is slightly outside my belly. I think all of these will remain visible for a while to come.

I have three little ones from my lap in June. The belly button one you can barely see although I now have a tiny connecting piece of skin inside my belly button where it knitted together funny. The other two look like dragonflies (10-15mm cut line and tiny marks either side from the stitch holes) My lap went a bit wrong though and I had to be opened up to stop some bleeding. So I have a 5-6inch scar along my bikini line, slightly off centre. This is the one I’m most impressed with though. I thought it’d be stitched the same clumsy way my lap scars were (a bit like how I would repair a tear in clothes by hand) but it’s the neatest single line. They used catgut type thread with one continuous stitch under the skin so there were only the knotted areas at either end that left some marks. Amazing. Although I do have a bit of an overhang now.

Not bad mine is just below my belly button. They dropped a camera to take pictures and review them. I have adenomyosis which I know have an IUD for.

Just 1 incision

I had 2 incisions, 1 on my bikini line which has almost disappeared and 1 just under my belly button which i opened up slightly from getting a cold just after my surgery so it ended up scarring a bit more but even that now just looks like a deep wrinkle at my belly button.

I had 4 incisions: one in my belly button, 2 on my right side mid/lower abdomen, one on my left side mid/lower abdomen. The incision in my bellybutton is completely invisible now, you can't tell a difference before/after. My left side and one of my right side incisions scarred only barely, they're now (2 years later) only slight pink lines about a centimeter long. One of my right side incisions is a bit more noticeable, more raised than the others and a bit pinker and wider, but that was my largest incision so I'm not surprised. Even still it's only about 1.5 centimeters long.I have very pale skin and scar very easily, and I was pleasantly surprised at how unnoticeable the scars are.

I have 6 including two huge ones, one across the bikini line. They are very visible but out of everything, it doesn’t bother me that much. I was never planning to become a swimwear model. They are mainly only seen by my husband or by strangers on the beach. I might feel a bit more self conscious if I went on holiday with friends / rellies but even the I think I would forget about it after 5 minutes. Don’t worry too much about it.

I have a bikini line scar from surgery in 2012 which barely notices now so doesn't bother me. I also have a quite big scar that runs down the middle of my stomach... I hate this one as it opened up at the top & bottom post op so looks awful. Not neat at all & makes my belly look quite like a bum! Nothing seems to help make it look any better. X

My belly has a fair few but it's not an issue cos kids are both totally covered in them from their transplants so in the grand scheme mine are non existent
