Post-surgery questions!

Hi all,

This is my first time posting ANYWHERE, EVER about having endometriosis, I've been a little in denial that anything has been wrong which is how I wound up in hospital, again recently. I have just had my third laparoscopy and first hysteroscopy with d&c.

Having had endometriosis treated three times in all three procedures, this was the first time they also found a large ovarian cyst and did the d&c and I am struggling to recover and suffering from heavy bleeding with clotting. I know spotting and light bleeding is normal after a hysteroscopy but has anyone experienced heavy bleeding?

My consultant was very blasé about the endo and the cyst basically just telling me it's a when not an if that I'll next be back for treatment. This is the first time I'm feeling really lonely trying to explain to my family and my partner the pain and the loneliness I am finding with taking time out to recover and dealing with my body feeling this way. Any tips for getting loved ones to understand?

Hi Kat!

This does help a lot, it's so hard and I'm sorry you've struggled with it too. I've started doing the same, just sending videos on our whatsapp groups.

My partner is so understanding a lot of the time, but for this surgery he had to work abroad so I went it alone and it just makes it all the more difficult. We actually ended up having some couples counselling and it helped a huge deal!

I had no idea before I was diagnosed how little awareness there is in comparison to other gynaecological related conditions!
