I'm due to have my first lap 2 weeks today, together with a hysterocopy (probably spelled incorrectly) and dye through my tubes (we've been trying to conceive for over 4 years). The lap has come about due to me getting a sharp crippling pain in my left side a day or two after my period which lasts for up to 10 days and is quite debilitating. However, the past 3 months haven't been so bad to the point where this month, I haven't had pain at all.
The operation falls whilst I've taken a week off work and I've booked to go on a train journey on the following Wednesday for a day out and was wanting to decorate and spend time with my daughter.
I want to know what the average recovery time is from a lap and also whether anybody else has had similar symptoms to my pain? I'm tempted to ask whether I can not have the lap but have the other two procedures as I'm extremely anxious and don't want to have unnecessary surgery in any event.
TIA

Hey, I had my lap last Tuesday and i recovered within a week. Everyone is different though and I’m only young (19) and very active etc.
I’m going to try the gym again next week but can’t play golf for 8 weeks due to twisting. You still have to take it easy as the stitches are still there and bending down can hurt a little bit.
It all depends on what they do during the surgery though. Xx
Hi i had my lap 17 days ago. I felt very tired and in lots of pain for the first 10 days and then it eased off gradually. I went back to work Tuesday just gone and have found it a bit of a struggle as my job is quite active.
Hope this helps and you get the answers you are looking for xx
I had the same as you with dye test too. I needed 2 weeks off work but was still uncomfortable especially driving and bending down. Good luck. You’ll be fine - the thought it worse than the reality!
