Hi all

This is my first post and I’m hoping someone will be able to offer me some advice. I have been having endo symptoms for about 10 years but they used to come and go however since the start of the year they have been almost constant. I get severe pains in my lower abdomen, dizziness, shakes, vomiting when I eat anything other than bland food and nausea even when I haven’t eaten anything. I also get bleeding in my urine and bowels every 3 weeks. I have been on prostap for 6 months now and it is the only thing that even slightly settles my pain.

I had a laparoscopy 8 years ago which found endometriosis by accident when looking for other issues which was burned/heated and this resolved my pain for about 3 years before it slowly got worse again.

However last week I had another laparoscopy which showed some additional tissue, scar tissue and adhesions but no endometriosis.

My question is if it wasn’t endometriosis but the prostap is working what else could this be? Could it be endometriosis and have been missed during surgery ( The consultant was a general gynaecologist with a special interest in endo)?

Sorry for the long post I just don’t really know what do to now as I was convinced I had endometriosis as the prostap is working.

My daughter is going through the same thing at 16 years old, I do wonder if they can miss endometriosis. She gets the depo shot which helps with some of the pain. I hope they figure this out for you.

Yes it's always possible they miss it. It has been missed on MRI scan and laps and many on here testament to that. Are adhesions essentially also endo tissue growth too? No, I always thought an adhesion was when the Endo got so big it like adhered and formed a link to something else like your ovary for example?

Keep on the injection if it's working. What do they tell you prostraps main benefit is? I'm unsure how it works sorry.

I'm post hysterectomy on her to stop endo regrowth with progesterone as the active component in my hrt.

Best wishes Helly.
