Ice on stomach?

Hey, I was wondering if I could put ice on my stomach to control the swelling.

I’ve developed a bruise just under my bellybutton and it’s still really sore and swollen.

Would ice help at all?

Keep an eye on your incisions if they’re swelling, if they get at all red or hot ask to see a nurse at your doctors x

Hey girly!

Glad to hear you lap went well!

My nurse straight after surgery gave me an ice pack for my incisions as they were already starting to bruise. It was really refreshing and I found that it did in fact help.

Just keep an eye on you incisions Hun, just keep them dry and don't do anything that involves stretching up or bending down.

If they begin to swell, get hot and or itchy please be sure to see your GP. They can get nasty really quick.

Wishing you well, talk anytime. Xxxx

Thank you and yeah I haven’t got any redness or pus etc.

I felt fine the first two days after surgery and now the drugs have worn off, it’s completely floored me haha and struggling to sleep as I can’t sleep on my side like I’m used to xx

Yeah sleep was honestly a nightmare. You feel so bad from it all and its all you want to yet you can't. I ended up having panic attacks due to it.

Sleeps the most important thing so as long as you are not taking anything else I would recommend some herbal sleeping tablets, even cold medicine to give yourself a helping hand.

Pain wise I'm not much help as nothing works for me. But taking both paracetamol and ibrophen together it a good stating point.

Hope there was something helpful here 😂😂

Xxx

Thank you, I’m the worse person when it comes to resting all day as I’m used to be active so I’m really bored already 😂 my parents keep telling me off as I keep moving and trying to do things like clean or make food. Xx

I sometimes use a wheat bag I keep on the freezer. It’s not ice cold but cold compress can help with swelling caused by inflammation.

I’ve never done this post op though so double check with someone, a pharmacist could probably advise.
