Advice please

Hi, I am in so much pain! Bed ridden for the last two days! Pain down my side, right ovary and lower back. I’ve struggled with painful sex, urine infections and a tender pelvis for years! No doctor has ever tested for endometriosis but I’ve convinced myself that I’ve got it. I’ve been currently prescribed codine for the pain and I’m resting in bed but I’m not sure if I need emergency treatment. We are waiting for a urine sample to come back (taken by out of your doctor yesterday) but I’m in such a lot of pain!

Nothing is worse and the pain is about the same. I’m very dizzy and have to take a minute to calm my head down when I stand up. No one has ever suggested endo but I just feel sure. I’m also very gassy and bloated

Also, would they consider this as an emergency or just something I have to live with until they can confirm what I have 😓

Firstly no endometriosis is not considered an emergency. It’s kind of a sit and wait kind of disease. I went to A&E before I was diagnosed... did all the tests but of course nothing showed up and generally endo can only be seen via Laparoscopy. Unless of course you have ovarian cysts which they can see with ultrasounds. I was on painkillers for a good six months and had two operations during this time to diagnose and remove the endometriosis.

If you feel something really isn’t right then go to A&E.. but just a word of warning the diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis is a long one sadly and we are expected to be in pain. However awful that sounds it’s the harsh truth for millions of women. I’ve been bedridden for most of the year... but like I say just do what you feel is right and if that’s going to A&E then so be it 😘

This is how I’ve been made to feel! The doctor has made an appointment to talk about endo for a week on Friday- that is the earliest (non emergency) appointment they have. 😓

I know exactly how you’re feeling. This has been the worst year of my life so far... trying to get an answer for the pain then subsequent treatment.

Please send me a private message if you need specific help/advice. I’ve become a bit of an endo pro this year so am well equipped with answers 😘

Thank you so much, I just need an answer to the pain. I just went to eat my dinner at the table but was crying in pain after 2 minutes. I’m back in bed again now 😢 x

😢 im welling up reading that as I know just how you feel.

If I were you, I’d to go A&E. I’m not sure if thats easy for you to do. But at least if it’s a burst cyst or something like that then you’ll have an answer for the pain at least. X

Thank you, I was admitted for the day yesterday. I’ve had. CT scan but nothing showed up to explain my pain. I’m still in so much pain. Doctor appointment on Friday to discuss endo and ultrasound the following week x

Pains definitely get worse with Gas!
