No periods
Can I have endometriosis?
In summary yes.
We are mammals and it doesn't matter what gender we all produce oestrogen which is what makes endo grow - only women can physically develop endo. Of course not every women has or can develop endometriosis; there's conditions that are thought to cause it. If you do have it (diagnosed via laparoscopy) then it doesn't go away. The amount of oestrogen naturally as in pre puberty and males doesn't affect endo, it's the increase in oestrogen during our cycles that make endo grow / spread and thus cause symptoms.
If you don't have periods then that could be down to your cycles being irregular - levels of leutenising hormone / progesterone could be low so the cycle doesn't happen properly as in no egg is produced. It's the lack of implantation that causes the period later, so first thing is to get your hormone levels checked. See if you can do this at a fertility clinic if your GP isn't willing to look into it.
Yes. I don't have periods anymore but my gynaecologist is suspecting endo as a possibility as is my GP.
Yes I have read about that. I meant in general with natural hormone level males, just to make it easier to understand
