Just like you, I have light and short periods but with severe endo and the pain is unbelievable.
Over time I have come to learn that everyone has different symptoms when it comes to endometriosis.
With endo, everything is possible, I just learnt that my shoulder/ arm and knee pain are linked to endo.
Thank you for your reply. My lack of period pains etc makes me question my endo diagnosis. I am awaiting a laparoscopy but have had scans and an mri.
I have suffered with leg pain, sciatic pain for years and wonder now if the two are related!
I’ve not been given the official diagnosis but been told I have endometriosis and I suffer with super irregular short periods. They are agonising and the pain lasts longer than the period but the blood about 3-4 days.
Hi, for years I had light, pain free periods despite having endo, my problems were always around ovulation. Wasn't until after having two IUIs that symptoms have gotten out of control including heavy, painful periods.
I have stage 3/4 endo with adhesions, unconfirmed bowel endo and my periods are only 2 days long. So hopefully that answers your question. X
Are your periods extremely painful?
Yes, today hubby nearly called an ambulance as I was in that much pain. I honestly feel the pain is worse than childbirth x
Oh my gosh I'm so sorry to hear that. It sounds so hard. 😣😢
My periods are very painful and heavy, however only last 2 days. I get a lot of my endo pains at other times of the month.
Hiya, I have light periods, actually not massively painful either. I got an ovarian cyst which they wanted to remove as it was quite large, they mentioned endo but said it was prob not much. They went in and it was everywhere, bladder bowel and all over ovary. I had got a lot of ibs type symptoms and pain from cyst and generally feeling pretty shit, weak, tired etc but not the typical heavy painful periods......I guess we are all different, many women don’t know they have it at all.
Hope that’s helpful, not to say you will have loads too but just giving my experience 💕
Thank you for your reply. I forgot to also say my periods are pretty much pain free. I feel so guilty as I know most womens periods are so severe.
I get ovulation pain, and other symptoms throughout my cycle too.
I'm on the waiting list for a laparoscopy, but who knows when that will be!
Its good to know there are other people with lighter/less painful periods that have been diagnosed.
Yes!!! So glad you posted this. My issues started because I got severe pains yet my periods stopped! Drs fobbed me off all the time. They came back after a laparoscopy which confirmed my uterus is stuck to my bowel but have since kinda disappeared again. Makes me feel like such an endo fraud when so many women suffer so badly with heavy periods! X
Yep I have stage IV endo, apparently most complex and severe my surgeon has seen, my periods were never heavy just extremely painful. Since surgery I am now pain free and only last 2 days xx
I had a hysterectomy a few months ago due to stage four endo. Am in my thirties. My periods were always light but had excruciating pain since they began. I was told by three different doctors that I couldn’t possibly have endo as my periods were so light. When a gynae finally opened me up I already had stage 4. You definitely can have endo with light periods!
Hey, my periods are very light too. I’ve only started to experience excruciating pain for the last 4 months and have recently been diagnosed with endo. We are all different and all have different symptoms.
During an internal scan they found that I had a number of large cysts on both ovaries so waiting for a lap to have these removed - but like you say, who knows when this will be.
Good luck with everything, hope you stay pain free
