Endometriosis symptoms

Hi,

I've been suffering from endometriosis for about 8 years now, I've never had a laparoscopy to confirm that I definitely have it as my doctor didn't feel the need for me to have to go through it as he is 99.9% certain from my symptoms that it's endo.

Anyway I had VERY severe symptoms for the first few years;

Excruciating pain,

Vomitting,

Almost fainting etc.

However my symptoms are very inconsistent these days. I've had it a couple of times where I get my period and nothing happens. It's bang on time and there's no pain or other symptoms what so ever, but then the next month it's really late, like a few weeks late and I'm back to being in severe pain and vomiting again.

I'm worried because I have never had any treatment for my endo. I was put on the pill very briefly, for just a few months but then I had to come off it and since then I'm just prescribed strong painkillers that don't even seem to take the edge off as the pain is so bad.

Would be interesting to know if anyone else has had a similar experience with their symptoms and what anyone might think it could be?

Thanks x

As far as im aware a laparoscopy done by a specialist is the only way to really diagnose endometriosis. I myself had a lap in March where nothing was found and i have severe symptoms and rectal bleeding. My doctor is certain it was missed as my bowel wasnt checked but im going through as many tests and procedures as possible to rule anything else out before i get referred to a specialist. It might be worth getting reffered on so they can offer more advice and help. Sorry i cant be more help x

Dear loulou

Please read my post ! I have been sufffering with an ongoing nonstop pain ( your not there ‘ yet ‘ since February !!

This is how it’s started a couple of years ago !! Exactly like yours !! That ‘ bang ‘ that you described !! And my period is late and light periods but always so scared of the level of of .. I vomited as well

Never try ‘ general painkillers ‘

NSDAs!!! If they help that is more likely going to be an endometriosis ( inflammation ) naproxen will help with the pain management !

If I was you I would see a private consultant..

My surgery is in next week and so scared .... but I have done many test and nothing’ else ‘apart from an inflammation!...

please take action now ! I’m worried about you !
