so I’m waiting for the results of my MRI. My consultant thinks I have deep infiltrating endo due to my symptoms. I’m reluctant at the moment to have surgery because my symptoms are better controlled. I would just like a confirmed diagnosis but afraid I won’t get this until I have a lap. My consultant also did an exam and said I have a frozen pelvis which makes her think something will be are on the scan. (I’ve been lucky enough to have it done in an endo specialist hospital) Ultrasounds haven’t shown anything.
has anyone been diagnosed with endo with an mri?

it depends how widespread it is. Stage 4 is extensive and widespread affected other organs.
My ovaries are stuck to the back of my uterus and then that’s all stuck to my rectum which indicates a frozen pelvis.
Maybe your consultant won’t stage it until they know how widespread yours is as severity of symptoms don’t always reflect how extensive the condition is. My consultant didn’t offer the number I had to ask but then I didn’t feel she was forthcoming with much info, I had to do a lot of research myself and then ask the questions I thought were relevant.
my endo was diagnosed by mri- stage 4 deep i filtrating- potentially attached to bowels
Ive just had my annual scan to see if it had progressed etc. ive opted not to have surgery and try and manage pain with the pill, diet, lifestyle etc so far working for me as far as it can
Surgery is never off the table as an option i just didnt jump into the idea
I accept that you only get so much of a picture with an mri but am happy to wait for now.
You also have to weigh up your own personal challenges and… if you want kids,,, levels of pain etc you dont HAVE to have surgery its personal preference and how you feel day to day with pain etc
Hi I was diagnosed via mri severe deep infiltrating endo back of my womb and bowels. I am listed for lap for this including bowel surgery. It took 6 months after my mri go get this results and got referred to a specialist endo centre. Because everything takes so long it took another 6 months to be listed for surgery and everything has progressed. If I were you I'd get listed and you can always opt out. Because you don't want it to be worse in a year or two and then think shit I wish I'd got myself listed. Even if you stay listed and turn the dates offered to you away. Any concerns speak eith your consultant or gp regarding fertility pain ect. Tbh I'm in so much bother I really couldn't care about my fertility I just want to pain gone and some sort of relief to bowel and bladder issues. Take all options offered to you and turn them down later it's on your terms x
