Fatigue
Hi Fiona, i can only talk from my own personal experience however I’ve really focused on my diet the last 9 months. I kept a food journal and looked at what I could do to give myself more energy through what I eat/don’t eat. I upped my daily intake of veg to 10 a day, really incorporating liver friendly Vegs and also decreasing my meat intake as it was heavily dominating my weekly meals. I now eat lots more fish and veg based meals, along with meat but just less of it. I’ve also pretty much eliminated caffeine out of my diet which has helped me use food more effectively to give me energy. I went to my doctors to get an mot check (blood test to check all things were ok and I wasn’t depleted in anything), I found from this I was needing some help from a few vitamins too as I wasn’t getting what I needed from my diet. Wow, long message :)!
I’ll be honest, I still get the wind knocked from my sails when i have my period and struggle to want to get out of bed for a few days however my energy for the remainder of the month has been much better and I used to really struggle out with my period too.
Good luck and try and fight back through things that you can control, like your diet and lifestyle choices. It takes commitment however it’s worth it when you change how you are feeling for the better. X
