Hi there I am similar. The consultants didn’t removed my bowel nodules as they were worried of perforating it. I should of insisted as my normal Endo symptoms eased with mirena and now zoladex but the bowel pain remains. I must admit it’s more manageable day to day but I’m not willing to put up with this long term. I’m now seeing consultant in July to insist on the full surgery. I’m lucky I’m 40 and have had a miracle daughter so I’m ready for a hysterectomy with ovaries and bowel resection.
Good luck it sounds like your consultant is willing to sort your bowel out. Try the mirena it’s worth a shot. My main issue with the mirena was the depression.
I’m in exactly the same position, waiting for my lap on 18th July I have awful bowels with a mix of what the doctors describe as ibs D/C I have all the same symptoms and it terrifies me too.
I tried loads of hormonal pills and all sorts and so far the only one that works for me is gedarel 150/30mg it doesn’t stop the ibs symptoms but does help a lot with pain.
Hi, I also had Endo stage 4 and experienced similar symptoms. I can completely understand how you must be feeling. Just want to share my experience and hope it giv s you some confidence.
Last year I underwent a lapro to remove my ovaries as I was constantly in pain which I felt was because of cysts on my ovaries. But during the operation my Gynae realised that I had severe Endo, where everything in my abdomen was glued together, therefore he didn’t do anything. I was given the Mirena coil during the op which kept my periods in control.
I was referred to the Endo specialist for which there was a long waiting therefore till then I was asked to take Prostap injections which induced Menopause. These injections caused severe vaginal dryness, mood swings and weight gain.
Anyways I got my surgery appointment in a years time and have undergone just 3 weeks back. My surgery lasted 6 hrs as it was very complicated with my Bowels involved. They had a bowel surgeon at hand incase they would have damaged my bowels but by God’s grace I was under skilled hands.
I am still not sure whether the surgery has benefitted me as my recovery is very slow. They ended up doing total hysterectomy and BSO so my abdomen still is very tender and my bowlers irritable. I do get these bowel pains which I have been told is because of the irritability of it because of the procedure. Looking at what my doc had said my recovery is very slow and I think a person who has been through the procedure is better at explaining the recovery.
I am keeping myself optimistic and waiting for the post op symptoms to go.
Good luck to you and I hope everything goes well for you. X
